As missionaries spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Central America,
one of our main functions is to build new churches. In addition, we
offer support to existing churches.
We are
proud to say that, through the power of God, we have built two new cement
block church buildings. The first of these is located in Santa Rosa
village along the southern highway in Belize. This church is the most
prominant building in the village and is pastored by Belize native and
faithful servant of the Lord, Ambrosio Shal. The church membership continues
to grow and the church is open for service or prayer daily.
The second
cement block church built by Ministries of the Son of God is in the
village of Siene Bight on the coast of Belize. It is built on beautiful
ocean-front property that was donated to the ministry by native man,
Ellis Guzman. Reverend Palmer pastors the Siene Bight church. We have
seen God work miracles to allow for this much needed chuch to be built
in this village where a large portion of the population follows the
voodoo traditions of their ancestors. We see progress here as we slowly
experience higher and higher attendance at our services.
Ministries
of the Son of God aquired land in the Village of Santa Cruz, which is
heavily populated by Spanish migrant workers. We were approached by
a young spanish-speaking man named Ronnie Cruz regarding his desire
to pastor a church in Santa Cruz. The men from two of our churches in
Mayan Villages came to us and offered to build a thatched-roof shelter
to serve as a church facility for Pastor Cruz. We hope to build a cement
block church on that property soon.
In addition to building new churces, we "adopt" and offer
needed support to existing churches. That is exactly what happened when
we met Pastor Angel Peck of Maya Mopan Village. This remote village
is in the foothills of Belize. Pastor Peck had constructed a cement
block church from blocks that he hand made one at a time. The church
had no doors and no windows and only wood planks laid on blocks for
pews. His
church roof, which was made of oiled cardboard, had started to leak.
Ministries of the Son of God is helping Pastor Peck to expand his church
building and we hope to soon put a new metal roof on the building.
This small
start is truly just the beginning of what we hope to accomplish. Reverend
Palmer feels in his heart that Ministries of the Son of God will build
many more new churches. Please help us as we continue this mission,
in the name of Jesus. Your donation will make a huge impact on our efforts
to expand our ministry and spread the word of God throughout southern
Belize and beyond!
